"And Babies" Graphic Tee

from $34.00

“And Babies” Tee is inspired by the famous anti-war poster “Q. And babies? A. And babies.” created by the Art Workers Coalition in 1970. The original poster was a response to the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War and used a photograph taken by U.S. Army photographer Ronald L. Haeberle. Its haunting phrase came from a Mike Wallace interview with soldier Paul Meadlo, where civilian deaths were discussed in brutally simple terms.

Temple Conservative Union reworked the design for today by connecting that original anti-war message to the destruction in Gaza and to the broader consequences of American foreign policy in the Middle East. We replaced the Vietnam-era image with a modern scene of rubble and loss, while keeping the same “Q. And babies? A. And babies.” structure to show that the moral question has not changed.

This shirt calls out American political and military support for Israel and the way that support has tied the United States to civilian suffering in Gaza. It is also about Iran and the dangerous push toward another wider Middle East war. If America is pulled deeper into that conflict, it will once again be children and families who pay the price first.

As Christians and as Americans, we cannot stand for senseless foreign policy that excuses the deaths of innocent people. No alliance, no foreign government, and no party loyalty should matter more than the lives of children. The phrase “Principle Over Party” reflects TCU’s belief that conservatives must have the courage to oppose reckless wars, reject blind loyalty to the political establishment, and defend human life even when it is unpopular.
